Happy Birthday, Lil!

Everyday this week since we went to Marco and Lisa's on Monday, Addie has asked me "Splash?" She is officially hooked on summer.

Well we decided to venture to WC today, and all in all, I think Addie had fun. There were moments (ahem, Daddy) that Addison was bit frightened, such as on the big, dark, huge, fast, family intertube ride, and then again on the next one, but we took our time easing back into the water, and she decided that WC might just be fun afterall. Surprisingly, she really liked the wave pool, which is ironic, because she hated the ocean last year. Some of you know, she hates the shower, loves the bath, but there is something about spraying water that terrifies her, so all of those cute, fun kiddie areas with the whales spouting water and such were really not up her alley. She did finally venture on her own around the pool, and went down the kiddie sized slide a few times.
We bought a baby pool for the backyard, so from the minute she woke up this morning, all we heard was "Splash?!" We thought WC might wear her out of water, but oh, no, we were wrong. After nap we ran some errands, and then we came home to splash before dinner. All was going well, we got some pics, Josh was getting the grill ready, when he comes back from the garage to announce that he just stepped on a nail. Yikes. Now sadly, in the 4 years we have been together, this is the second time this has happened. The first time was in Louisa, and we couldnt remember the last time he had a tetanus shot. Lucky for us this time (however lucky stepping on a nail can be) he had a shot a few weeks ago, and aside from being gimpy, he appears to be okay.
Anyway, while he was getting himself all fixed up, Addison was apparently pooping in her swim diaper. And if you have ever had to deal with swim diapers, then you know where this is headed. Anyway, to cut out the gross parts, Josh had to gimp down so we could clean her off, and then clean out the pool, which only managed to be filled for 24 hours, and I dragged a naked, screaming baby (she wasnt done splashing) to the bathtub. Sigh. It was an adventure, but after letting her hold the water cup in the bathtub, letting her have popcorn for dessert, and letting her watch Little Bear, it seems that we were able to salvage the night.
Here are the pictures from before the "disaster". We didnt feel the need to put a bathing suit on her, well, since both of hers were wet. She is not modest, lol.

Happy Birthday to my Lil-abug, who is 10 today! Oh my, how I am getting old!
